Balancing Act: Managing Holiday Hours Effectively

At Incept, we value the hard work and dedication of our employees and understand the importance of taking time to relax and rejuvenate. To support this, we observe seven corporate holidays and offer one year-end floating holiday. Each year, our employees are notified at the beginning of the calendar year about the specific dates these holidays will be observed. The traditional holidays we observe include:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Juneteenth

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

  • Floating Holiday

Ensuring Client Needs are Met

While most of our employees enjoy these days off, we understand that some of our clients may require services even on holidays. In such cases, we remain open to support their needs. Our approach is twofold:

  1. Volunteers First: We prioritize relying on volunteers to cover holiday shifts. This not only ensures that those who are willing and able to work can do so but also fosters a sense of teamwork and dedication within our organization.

  2. Unbiased Selection Process: If volunteer numbers fall short, we employ an unbiased selection process to ensure fair distribution of holiday work. Employees selected through this process are notified at least one week in advance to allow ample preparation time.

In addition to receiving holiday pay, employees who work on holidays often enjoy additional incentives, making the decision to volunteer not only a gesture of goodwill but also a rewarding experience.

Balancing Pros and Cons

We acknowledge that there are both pros and cons to maintaining operations during holidays. However, our approach has proven effective in balancing employee satisfaction with client needs. By fostering a culture of volunteerism and ensuring a fair selection process, we maintain a supportive environment for our team while upholding our commitment to excellent client service.

Hours of Operation

We operate with flexibility to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our standard business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 6 PM. However, in alignment with our commitment to client satisfaction, we adapt our hours based on specific program requirements, ensuring that we remain available when our clients need us the most.
